Classrooms Expeditions: No Child Left Inside
In the 2007/08 school year, our students embarked on the following classroom expeditions:
- What would a rock tell us if it could talk? What is a rock cycle? What does the rock cycle teach us?
- How do things change and grow? How do we change and grow?
- Part 1: What makes a dog a dog? What do dogs need to be happy and healthy? How do dogs enrich our lives?
- Part 2: How and where do coyotes live? (A habitat study through the lens of a coyote.) What characteristics have helped the coyote to survive and thrive? What were Native American's beliefs and feelings about the coyote? What are present day feelings and beliefs about coyotes?
- What is an ecosystem? What is a habitat? What causes it to change? Why do we care?
- Where were the local railroads? Why were they needed and why did they disappear?
- What can we learn from the first Californians about becoming stewards of California's environment? What does modern science teach us about the stewardship of California's environment?

- What makes a hero a hero? What character traits does a hero display? How did American heroes make a difference? What can I do to make a difference?
