Audrey Hight:  Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten
In addition to an elementary education credential, Audrey holds a degree in Communicative Disorders which gives her insight into language acquisition, speech and other special needs that young children bring to the classroom. She has since completed the coursework for a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

Audrey first became a parent of Charter school students as she sought a more whole-person learning experience for her own children. "When I first heard the Ten Design Principles of Expeditionary Learning, I knew I had literally come home to what an ideal school experience should be for children and educators.  One example is the emphasis on using our natural world as a teacher. As an avid lover of the mountains and a long-time gardener, I feel that all children need the opportunity to learn from regular experiences in nature."

Audrey joined the Charter Faculty in 1999, embarking on her career in expeditionary learning. "We teach students their own responsibility for lifelong learning. Their empowerment in that process connects them to their school, their community, and the world."
